well, my dad and brother had it but none of the others tested had it.
The problem is finding any more male Bowermans in our line--don't think there are any, other than 2 of my dad's brothers and their sons, who would test the same most likely. Go back any farther and the males had daughters or no children or died without issue. Have to go back to my gr grandfather's brother who had one son survive and track down any possible male descendants to today.
I'd love to know more about it all, tho.
xoxo Patti
To do that, we need male descendants from other children of Ichabod, to find out where the mutation occurred. Was it actually inherent to your line, or was it passed to others?
That mutation can actually be useful in "splitting the hairs" on family branches, if it could be isolated.

yep, me too. Also would love to do more with my specific line and investigate those mutations--lol
Fascinating stuff.

Correct, Patti. At that time, it was the most advanced test we had available, and was more than adequate to meet our needs.
As I understand it, several of the societies will be requiring the higher test to submit an undocumented link. To bad we couldn't have gotten the standards set with our case. it might not have been so tough as it will be now.
I'd be really curious to see just how pure the family signature is!
Ron
